SOLAR HOMES SYSTEM DISTRIBUTION PROJECT
DESCRIPTION:
A government undertaking in support of the rural electrification objectives and the social reform agenda being implemented by PNOC in cooperation with DOE, and in partnership with Shell Solar Philippines Corp.
The project involves the installation of 15,100 SHS units in 7 regions namely: Regions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and CAR in 5 years. The project took off with a grant of 5.591 million Euros from the Netherlands government, representing 60% of total equipment cost.
STATUS:
Installed 1,015 units of SHS from January-May, 2006, bringing total installations to 9,959 units.
