PNOC-China National Offshore Oil Corporation Agreement
DESCRIPTION:
This joint project will acquire geo-scientific data to assess the petroleum resource potential of an agreed study area in the South China Sea covering 142,886 square kilometers. Under the Agreement, PNOC and CNOOC will share expenditures and facilitate the conduct of the geophysical survey for data gathering and processing. Both parties will share financial risks. Total project cost is estimated at US$7.14 million.
STATUS:
EC provided technical inputs to the seismic data processing activity in Vietnam in March 2006 and attended the Seismic Data Processing Meeting held in Vietnam in April. In May, the mapping of Seabed Horizon for 2005 Joint Marine Seismic Undertaking (JMSU) data set was completed.
