SAN ANTONIO NATURAL GAS-FIRED POWER PLANT (SC 37)

DESCRIPTION:

The country?s first natural gas fired power plant ? the 3-megawatt San Antonio Power Plant facility located in San Antonio, Isabela. This power facility was made possible through a donation of a gas generator and a host of other environmental and technical assistance by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). The power plant was commissioned in 1994.

PROJECT SITE:

Barangay San Antonio, Echague, Isabela, Region 2

STATUS:

The plant continues to supply the electricity requirements of some 10,000 households in the towns of Echague, San Agustin, Jones and part of Santiago City, Isabela. As of May 31, 2006, the power plant generated 16.11 GWhr of electricity using 284.40 mmscf of gas.
