The Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) joined the celebration of National Women’s Month by hosting various activities that highlighted the importance of women in the workplace and society as a whole.

One of the activities PNOC conducted was a film showing at its Head Office, Industrial Park, and Energy Supply Base. The film entitled “Sinandomeng,” which was released in 2017, showcased the resilience of Sinang, a female farmer who struggled to keep her family afloat after her husband died. The film showing aimed to promote the incredible strength and toughness of women amid difficult situations.

PNOC also organized a film showing and talk on RA 9262, also known as the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, at Barangay Mainaga and San Francisco in Mabini, Batangas, and at Barangay Batangas Dos in Mariveles and Barangay Lamao in Limay, Bataan. The event aimed to educate the community on the importance of protecting women and children from all forms of violence and abuse.

In addition, PNOC conducted a “SHE-RO” Poster Making Contest for its employees which featured the exceptional women in the company. PNOC also attended the Philippine Commission on Women’s (PCW) digitALL Forum Series which featured various discussions on gender equality, women empowerment, and the role of women in the digital economy.

National Women’s Month is celebrated every March in the Philippines. The annual event aims to recognize and honor the role of women in society and promote gender equality. In its culminating activity on April 3, 2023, PNOC highlighted the company’s commitment to promoting gender diversity and inclusion in the workplace and its efforts to empower women in the energy sector.
