MARIVELES, Bataan—Seven hundred guyabano saplings were planted on a two-hectare site in Barangay Alion during the 2025 Tree Planting Activity organized by PNOC on September 19, 2025.

The activity gathered 140 participants from PNOC offices, partner industries, government agencies, and community organizations. It forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, which integrates environmental responsibility into its mandate to support the country’s energy development.

The Park Management Department, which oversees the PNOC Industrial Park (PIP), spearheaded the initiative as part of its commitment to balance industrial growth with environmental protection. PIP is a 530-hectare industrial estate that hosts petrochemical and energy-related industries, providing essential services such as water, power, and jetty facilities to its locators. By leading the tree planting, PNOC underscored that industrial hubs should also serve as platforms for sustainability initiatives that benefit both industry stakeholders and host communities.

Locators and industry partners that joined the activity were Philippine Resins Industries, Inc., NPC Alliance Corporation, Orica Philippines Inc., Team Philippines Energy Corporation, Petron, Natural Resources Development Corporation, EliteBlue Security Specialist, Inc., Adriano Construction, and LBP Resources and Development Corporation.

Meanwhile, the local government and community were represented by the Alion People’s Organization and officials from the community and provincial environment and natural resources offices (CENRO Bagac and PG ENRO).

Energy development and taking care of the environment don’t have to be in conflict, but actually go hand in hand. Activities like this show how PNOC is working to strengthen the country’s energy sector while also protecting the natural resources our communities rely on,” said Engr. Domingo S. Inlong, Officer-in-Charge of the PNOC Park Management Department.

Tree planting is an annual activity and a key component of PNOC’s CSR initiatives, aimed at mitigating environmental impacts, supporting reforestation efforts, and strengthening partnerships with stakeholders.
