Mariveles, Bataan – The PNOC Park Management Department once more conducted the 2023 Tree Planting Event, held on July 21, 2023, at the NGCP Site in Brgy. Alion, Mariveles, Bataan. This event, running from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., marks a significant step towards environmental sustainability and community involvement.
Preparations for the event began on July 15 and 16, 2023, with the careful preparation of the 2-hectare planting site. Tasks included cutting grass, digging holes, placing stakes, and installing signs to guide participants along the 2-kilometer path to the tree planting site on July 19, 2023. Transporting the saplings from DENR-CENRO, Bagac to the planting site was successfully accomplished on the same day, ensuring all logistical aspects were well-organized.
With an expected attendance of 150, the event saw enthusiastic participation from 140 individuals. A total of 500 cashew and 500 guyabano saplings were successfully planted, significantly contributing to reforestation efforts in the region.

The PNOC Industrial Park has once again taken steps towards environmental preservation by conducting its annual Park-Wide Coastal Clean-Up on March 24, 2023. The activity was held at the PNOC Industrial Park Construction Jetty shorelines from 6:00 am to 8:00 am, with the participation of 105 volunteers from various companies and organizations. These included employees from Petron, NPC Alliance Corporation, TeaM Philippines Energy Corporation, Orica Philippines Incorporated, Philippine Resins Industries Inc., Eliteblue Security Specialist inc., and Servicio Filipino Inc. Representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Natural Resources Development Corporation also graced the event.
The main objective of the Coastal Clean-up was to promote ocean conservation and protect marine wildlife and the ecosystem by keeping the shorelines free from debris. The volunteers worked tirelessly to collect 1,730.21kg of garbage, comprising plastic (412.10kg), rubber (239.50kg), Styrofoam (245.80kg), and other residuals (832.81kg).
The PNOC Industrial Park’s annual Park-Wide Coastal Clean-Up has been a tradition for many years now. Through this activity, they aim to foster environmental awareness and inspire action towards a sustainable future. The PNOC Industrial Park is committed to promoting responsible waste management and implementing eco-friendly initiatives in all its operations.

2022
BATANGAS – On May 20, 2022, PNOC turned over 50 ceramic lavatory sinks with complete plumbing fittings to the Mainaga-San Francisco Elementary School, in response to the school’s request for assistance in providing hygiene facilities for its 600 students.
The provision of sinks and fittings will help the school comply with the COVID-19 health protocols, required by the Department of Education, as it returns to face-to-face classroom learning.
The items were officially received by the school’s principal, Dr. Ofelia del Mundo.
PNOC continues to prioritize the needs of its host communities through its Corporate Social Responsibility. Mainaga-San Francisco Elementary School is located at PNOC Energy Supply Base’s Host Community in Mabini, Batangas.
Mariveles, Bataan – The Philippine National Oil Company Industrial Park (PIP) conducted its 2022 Tree Planting Activity at the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines’ (NGCP) site on August 5, 2022. Senior Vice President for Energy Business Atty. Graciela M. Barleta led the PNOC employees from the Head Office, Energy Supply Base, and PNOC Industrial Park.
The participants walked and planted one thousand cashew saplings along the three-kilometer path from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO) to the tree planting site.
A total of 146 participants from PNOC, Petron, National Parks Conservation Association, TeaM Philippines Energy Corporation, Orica, Natural Resource Development Corporation, Philippine Resins Industries, Inc., ESSI, Servicio Filipino, Inc., DENR-CENRO, and Alion Farmers joined the activity.
Mariveles, Bataan – The PNOC Industrial Park, together with its third party service providers, Eliteblue Security Services, Inc. and Servicio Filipino, Inc., participated in the CENRO Bagac’s Coastal Cleanup Activity at Barangay Sisiman Coast in Mariveles, Bataan on April 22, 2022.
The activity was conducted in celebration of “Earth Day,” an annual event that aims to increase awareness and support for environmental protection. This year’s theme, entitled “Invest in our Environment,” calls on both businesses and individuals to contribute to a more prosperous and equitable future through collective action for change.
The Coastal Cleanup Activity was also participated in by Estero Rangers, PNP Maritime, Philippine Coast Guard, MENRO Mariveles, Acracom, Inc., and Oilink International Corporation.
BATAAN – The PNOC Industrial Park concluded its 2022 Parkwide Coastal Clean-up on March 25, 2022, at the PNOC Industrial Park Construction Jetty shorelines, from 6:00 am until 8:00 am.
PNOC Industrial Park employees were joined by employees from Petron (Polypropylene Plant), NPC Alliance Corporation, TeaM Philippines Energy Corporation, Orica Philippines Incorporated, Philippine Resins Industries Inc., Eliteblue Security Specialist inc., and Servicio Filipino Inc. They were also joined by representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Natural Resources Development Corporation. A total of 86 volunteers participated in the cleanup activity.
The garbage collected weighed 1,337.56kg (1.3 tons) and consisted of plastic (411.20kg), rubber (308.38kg), Styrofoam (186.28kg), glass bottle (34.50kg), and other residuals (397.20kg).
This is an annual event aimed at keeping oceans debris-free and ultimately protecting marine wildlife and the ecosystem.
2021
On December 11, 2021, PNOC turned over to the Mabini Community Hospital 28 electric stand fans and 15 heavy-duty folding beds with mattresses in response to the local government’s request for assistance to its COVID 19 Temporary Treatment Monitoring Facility. These items were needed to augment the limited resources currently available in the Community Hospital. The items were officially received by Dr. Criza Clare Encarnacion and witnessed by Mabini Mayor Noel Luistro.
On September 21, 2021, the Philippine National Oil Company turned over a total of 1,200 N95 masks to the Provincial Government of Batangas and the Batangas Philippine National Police to contribute to the precautionary measures of the province against possible airborne ash and vog caused by the Taal Volcano eruptions.
In 2020 and 2021, Taal Volcano emitted tons of spewing ash and sulfur dioxide during an eruption, affecting the communities in Batangas. PNOC, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)-related activities for its host communities, donated said masks to be used by the health emergency front liners of Batangas in the event of another volcanic eruption.
PNOC continuously aligns its CSR projects and activities to the needs of its host communities and commits to maintaining fruitful relationships with its stakeholders.
As part of PNOC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the PNOC Industrial Park (PIP) donated paper and printer ink to three schools in Barangay Batangas Dos, namely, Batangas Dos Elementary School, Bayview Elementary School, and Mariveles National High School.
The donated items will be used to print school modules since they are using the modular distance learning method, not online learning. The school representatives were grateful as these items came at an opportune time. Leading the CSR donation were PNOC Industrial Park representatives, Robert Villa and Renee Rose Costrua, in behalf of PNOC President Reuben Lista, SVP Graciela Barleta, and Park Manager Edwin Celzo.
This is the PNOC Industrial Park’s second CSR activity for the year; a Coastal Cleanup was conducted last March along the PIP shoreline–which collected more than 1,000 kilos of various wastes.
BATAAN – The PNOC Industrial Park conducted a park-wide coastal clean-up at the Park’s Construction Jetty shorelines on March 18, 2021.
1,016.14 kilograms of plastic, rubber, Styrofoam, glass bottles, and other residual garbage were collected from the clean-up drive.
A total of 76 participants from PNOC, Petron, NPC Alliance Corporation (NPCA), TeaM Energy Corporation, Orica Philippines, Inc., Enclosure Systems Specialists, Inc., and Servicio Filipino, Inc. joined the activity.
2020
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, PNOC Park Manager Edwin Celzo, accompanied by Eng. Lai Ngojo, Robert Villa, Fitz Magno, Renee Costrua, Jennifer Lacap, and Julie Ann Victorio, donated 50 school supply kits to the Ayta Magbukun Community, Bgy. Biaan, Mariveles, Bataan. This was done in coordination with the Making A Kinship with the Indigenous (MAKI) Project Inc., a foundation formed to promote public awareness on indigenous people.
Through the initiative of PNOC Board Chairperson DOE Secretary Alfonso Cusi and the support of PNOC President Reuben S. Lista, PNOC employees, together with volunteers from Duterte’s Kitchen and the local government, extended the Christmas spirit by giving gift bags to 1,000 families belonging to the Dumagat Tribe from Rodriguez, Rizal.
The gift bags which were part of the Handog Pagmamahal Project of Secretary Cusi contained rice, spaghetti packs, cans of meat, and chocolate biscuits for each of the 1,000 beneficiaries from the upland barangay of Macabud in Rodriguez.
As the Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) was emerging in the country in 2020, the national government responded with Republic Act No. 11469, also known as the “Bayanihan to Heal as One Act”. Under this program, President Rodrigo R. Duterte called for the full cooperation of all government agencies, and the PNOC Group of Companies answered the call by remitting a total of seven billion pesos (Php7.0 B) to the National Treasury. Of the Php7.0 B remitted, five billion pesos (Php5.0 B) came from the parent company’s accumulated earnings.
Moreover, the Board of Directors approved a budget of five million pesos for PNOC to undertake programs to reduce the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic. Compliant with the GCG and COA rules and/or guidelines, the company implemented the PNOC Health, Safety and Food Aid Project under the PNOC CSR-GAD Program.
In this project, PNOC was able to distribute rice subsidies to the SOS Children’s Villages located at PNOC’s areas of operation, to the Mabini, Batangas, and Mariveles, Bataan local government units (LGUs), and to the affected PNOC service providers.
Vitamins, surgical masks, and food packs were also distributed to selected provincial health facilities, government hospitals, frontliners, and PNOC service providers.
The implementation period spanned from the last week of May up to July, 2020.
