On February 29, 2024, PNOC visited Raslag Corp. and the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (PNRI) to explore Solar Photovoltaic Power Plants and nuclear technology, respectively

Raslag Corp., led by its President and CEO, Engr. Peter G. Nepomuceno, and Executive Vice President Engr. Conrado D. Pecjo welcomed the PNOC delegation to their facilities. A pioneer in solar energy, Raslag Corp. showcased its impressive portfolio, operating three solar PV plants with a combined capacity of 41.198 MWp. With plans for expansion underway, Raslag Corp. aims to further contribute to the region’s renewable energy landscape, anticipating the completion of a fourth plant and the establishment of additional facilities in neighboring provinces.

The environmental benefits of solar energy are clear with Raslag Corp.’s plants already making a significant impact by displacing thousands of tons of CO2 emissions annually. The figures speak volumes, underlining the pivotal role solar energy plays in mitigating climate change and fostering a sustainable future.

Transitioning from the powers of the sun to the complexities of nuclear technology, PNRI’s Director, Dr. Carlo A. Arcilla, provided insights about of nuclear energy. Presenting a balanced perspective, Dr. Arcilla emphasized the potential of nuclear technology as a viable alternative to traditional energy sources, while also acknowledging and addressing concerns surrounding its implementation. By embracing innovation and exploring diverse energy solutions, PNOC is ready to navigate the evolving energy landscape effectively. Through these technology exposure visits, PNOC is ready to lead efforts for cleaner energy, making our future better.
