In celebration of the 2023 National Women’s Month, the Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) held a series of activities to honor and recognize the invaluable role of women in society. Among the highlights was the film showing of the award-winning independent movie Sinandomeng for employees at the PNOC Head Office, Industrial Park, and Energy Supply Base.
Released in 2017, Sinandomeng tells the poignant story of a resilient female farmer who, after losing her husband, bravely shoulders the responsibility of providing for her family. The film resonated with audiences for its powerful depiction of women’s strength, perseverance, and unwavering spirit in the face of hardship.
Screenings were held on March 27, 29, 30, and 31, 2023, allowing more employees across PNOC offices to participate. The activity aimed not only to provide meaningful engagement but also to reinforce the company’s commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering women in the workplace and beyond.
Participation to PCW DigitALL Forum Series
Aside from hosting a series of film showings, PNOC also took part in the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) DigitALL Forum Series, which featured diverse discussions on gender equality, women’s empowerment, and the role of women in the digital economy.
The three-part forum began with “KasamaALL: Inclusivity in Innovation and Tech” on March 15, followed by “Safe in Tech: Innovation and Cyberspace” on March 22, and concluded with “ChatGE: Talk About Gender Equality” on March 29. PNOC employees actively participated in the sessions, sharing their key insights and learnings on the PNOC GAD Facebook page to further inspire awareness and engagement.
PNOC’s participation in the 2023 National Women’s Month Celebration reflects the company’s firm belief that Gender and Development (GAD) is a fundamental human rights advocacy that should be integrated into every aspect of the organization’s operations and culture.
