The Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) reaffirmed its commitment to gender equality and inclusivity with the successful conduct of its two-part Gender and Development (GAD) Agenda Workshop, held on May 21 and June 3, 2025.
The workshop series aimed to develop PNOC’s GAD Agenda, a six-year strategic plan designed to fully integrate gender perspectives into the company’s programs, projects, and operations.
During the first session on May 21, Ms. Maria Terrisa A. Tripulca, Chairperson of the PNOC GAD Focal Point System Technical Working Group, emphasized the importance of the GAD Agenda in providing strategic direction and a clear framework for the organization’s gender mainstreaming initiatives. She expressed appreciation for the steadfast support of PNOC President and CEO, Mr. Oliver B. Butalid, whose leadership has been instrumental in embedding gender equality across PNOC’s policies and activities.
Representatives from all departments participated in the first session including the offsite offices in Bataan and Batangas, ensuring that every activity and project across the organization would be reflected in the GAD Agenda.
The second session on June 3 brought together members of the PNOC GAD Focal Point System Executive Committee, including Senior Vice President for Financial and Administrative Services, Atty. Josephine Cassandra J. Cui; Senior Vice President for Energy Investment, Ma. Rowena C. Raymundo; and Senior Vice President for Energy Business, Atty. Graciela M. Barleta. This phase focused on reviewing, refining, and finalizing the proposed GAD Agenda, ensuring it aligns with both organizational priorities and national gender and development goals.
With the completion of this workshop series, PNOC moves closer to institutionalizing a comprehensive, gender-responsive plan that will guide decision-making, budgeting, and program implementation for the next six years.
Through these efforts, PNOC continues to champion a workplace culture rooted in equity, empowerment, and inclusion, reinforcing that gender equality is not just a policy, but a cornerstone of sustainable growth and organizational success.
