TAGUIG CITY, Metro Manila – The PNOC successfully conducted a specialized Road Safety Training and Seminar for its drivers and selected personnel on December 15, 2025.
Held in strategic partnership with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), this full-day program was designed to foster a culture of safety, responsibility, and professional conduct among the company’s transport workforce. The event, facilitated by the MMDA’s Traffic Education Division (TED), balanced technical driving instruction with vital education on social responsibility and administrative maintenance.

The seminar commenced with a vital session on the Safe Spaces Act (RA No. 11313), facilitated by Atty. Dianne M. Dizon, Head of the Deputation Program Unit and OIC of the Traffic Education Division. Atty. Dizon provided a comprehensive overview of gender-based sexual harassment in both public and online spheres to ensure all participants clearly understood their rights and responsibilities. The session empowered attendees to recognize and address harassment effectively, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to a safe and inclusive workplace for all.

Focused on risk mitigation, Mr. Miguel E. Panal (Supervisor, TED Training Section) conducted an in-depth Defensive Driving session. The module provided a comprehensive overview of defensive driving principles, focusing on managing space and time, maintaining safe following distances, and applying specialized techniques for high-risk scenarios. Participants were also trained in conflict resolution strategies to avoid collisions and effectively manage encounters with aggressive drivers or road rage, thereby enhancing overall road safety and courtesy.
The afternoon sessions shifted focus to Proper Vehicle Maintenance, led by Training Officer Aldwin T. Vigilla. Participants refreshed their knowledge on how consistent maintenance drives operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The session featured a detailed guide for pre-trip and post-trip inspections, empowering personnel to detect potential mechanical issues early and maintain full compliance with national road safety standards.
Led by the Personnel Services Division, this initiative aimed to empower staff to be both technically skilled and true representatives of PNOC’s values. Through this focus on accountability and safety, the company reinforces its dedication to workplace integrity and public safety, ensuring excellence in every journey.
