PNOC

On February 26, 2025, members of the Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) participated in the Philippine Commission on Women’s (PCW) first GAD webinar, which focused on Basic Gender and Development (GAD) Concepts and Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC).

The online session emphasized gender sensitivity as a core competency for government employees, highlighting how societal institutions—such as family, media, and the legal system—can influence and perpetuate gender bias.

A major highlight of the webinar was the discussion on gender-fair language, underscoring its role in promoting empowerment, ensuring fair representation, and eliminating stereotypes. Participants were encouraged to actively challenge heteronormative perspectives and work towards creating inclusive workplaces that recognize and respect individuals of diverse SOGIESC.

Through this online session, PNOC GFPS members strengthened their understanding of gender concepts and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing equality, inclusivity, and empowerment within the organization and its programs.
