PNOC

The Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) enhanced its capacity for gender mainstreaming by participating in a series of webinars hosted by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), focusing on Gender Analysis (GA) and the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG).

On April 2, 2025, the GA session explored how gender analysis helps identify differences between women and men in terms of needs, roles, access to resources, opportunities, and decision-making power. Participants learned to review sex-disaggregated data, apply GA frameworks, and use analytical tools to uncover gender gaps within organizations, programs, and communities. The webinar also underscored GA’s vital role in shaping the GAD Agenda and guiding GAD Planning and Budgeting toward more gender-responsive initiatives. By integrating GA into its processes, PNOC GFPS aims to ensure that its programs and projects address the unique needs of all genders, fostering equality and inclusivity across the organization.

Meanwhile, on June 18, 2025, PNOC GFPS members attended the session on HGDG, which served as a practical guide for integrating GAD elements throughout the project development cycle—from conceptualization to evaluation—and for assessing programs and projects for gender-responsiveness. Participants also learned how to apply HGDG results to inform the GAD Plan and Budget and the GAD Accomplishment Report, ensuring alignment with national gender and development priorities. The training further highlighted strategies for addressing gender gaps in program design, implementation, and monitoring, enriched by real-world examples from other government agencies.

Through its active participation in these PCW webinars, PNOC GFPS reinforced its commitment to implementing evidence-based and inclusive gender strategies, advancing the company’s mission to promote equity, empowerment, and inclusivity within the workplace and in the communities it serves.
