PNOC

TAGUIG CITY, Metro Manila—PNOC joined institutions nationwide in the 2025 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held on September 11, 2025.

Facilitated by the company’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) in coordination with the Security and General Services Division, PNOC employees followed the “Duck, Cover, Hold” protocol before proceeding to the designated muster points through the identified evacuation routes.

An emergency command post was likewise established to simulate first aid and rescue operations. Safety officers carried out building inspections as well as head counts at the muster areas to complete the evacuation process.

At the Energy Center, the drill was conducted simultaneously with other offices in the compound, including the Department of Energy, PNOC Exploration Corporation, Land Bank of the Philippines–PEZA Taguig Branch, and the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center.

In line with these efforts, PNOC has also strengthened its internal response capacity through specialized training. In June 2025, selected employees completed the Basic Life Support–Lay Rescuer and Standard First Aid Training in partnership with the Taguig City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office. The program equipped participants with life-saving skills such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, trauma response, and care for medical emergencies, formally recognizing them as trained responders within the company.

Through its active participation in the NSED and continuous capacity-building initiatives, PNOC integrates preparedness into its workplace culture, emphasizing that safety is a shared responsibility requiring collective awareness, cooperation, and readiness from the entire workforce.

The NSED is a quarterly activity led by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council to promote earthquake preparedness and strengthen disaster resilience across the country. Conducted in government offices, schools, private institutions, and communities, the drill familiarizes the public with proper safety protocols and emergency response coordination.
