PASAY CITY, Metro Manila—PNOC underscored the importance of sustainable energy practices as it participated in the 31st International Packaging, Printing, Plastics Machinery, Technology, Products, and Services Exhibition or PackPrintPlas Philippines 2025 on September 18-20, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center Manila.
Recognized as the premier event for the packaging, printing, and plastics sectors, PackPrintPlas Philippines gathered business leaders, manufacturers, entrepreneurs, and professionals to explore new technologies, form partnerships, and learn about solutions shaping the future of production. The event featured more than 250 local and international exhibitors and welcomed over 10,000 trade buyers and visitors.
Aside from booths, displays, and product demonstrations, the event also offered a lineup of learning sessions to provide participants with insights on innovation, sustainability, and emerging trends. One of the key sessions was a forum organized by the Philippine Center for Print Excellence Foundation, titled Powering the Future: Driving Energy Efficiency & Sustainability. The session featured PNOC Project Development Officer Patrick Jose IV V. Andaya, who discussed Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EE&C).

The session explained how companies can manage rising energy costs and support sustainability goals by adopting both efficiency technologies and conservation habits. Andaya shared practical steps, including the use of inverter-type air conditioning units, unplugging unused office equipment to eliminate “phantom loads,” switching off lights when not in use, and performing regular equipment maintenance to keep machinery running at optimal levels. These measures, together with structured energy management systems, were presented as key strategies for long-term cost savings and reduced environmental impact.
The presentation also focused on the provisions and requirements of Republic Act 11285 or the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act, which aims to stabilize the energy supply, encourage renewable energy adoption, and institutionalize energy efficiency across industries.
Participants were introduced to the role of accredited Energy Service Companies highlighting how businesses that adopt EE&C measures may benefit from government incentives such as tax breaks, concessional financial packages, and recognition programs for energy efficiency innovations.
Complementing PNOC’s advocacy, other sessions focused on solar energy integration and the development of long-term energy efficiency roadmaps, making the event a comprehensive platform for sustainable solutions in the printing, packaging, and plastics industries.
