TAGUIG CITY, Metro Manila – On December 18, 2025, PNOC culminated its observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) by recognizing exemplary employees who successfully completed the Self-Care Challenge and TESDA Certification (Batch 2) on December 18, 2025.

Opening the event, PNOC Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) Technical Working Group (TWG) Vice Chairperson Sharina Mariz L. Walde congratulated the 31 completers of the 18-Day Self-Care Challenge, commending their commitment to prioritizing self-care as a means of fostering safe spaces for all. She emphasized that caring for one’s well-being is fundamental to advocacy, noting, “We believe that to be effective protectors of others and champions against violence, we must first be stewards of our own well-being. By taking care of ourselves, we build the resilience necessary to stand up for others.”

The event also recognized the 22 completers of TESDA certification courses under PNOC Project SKILL (Spreading Knowledge, Inclusivity, Leadership, and Livelihood) Batch 2. This initiative underscores PNOC’s commitment to continuous improvement and workforce development, as it empowers employees to expand their technical competencies beyond their primary roles. Project SKILL was implemented in response to the results of the 2024 GAD Survey.

This spirit of innovation earned a strong commendation from SVP Ma. Rowena C. Raymundo, who recognized PNOC-GFPS for the creative concepts introduced across the entire spectrum of GAD activities for this year. She noted that these engaging initiatives have set a new benchmark for the organization, leaving the workforce with a renewed sense of excitement for the future of GAD programming at PNOC.

In her closing remarks, PNOC GFPS-TWG Chairperson Maria Terrisa A. Tripulca recognized the awardees as the driving force behind an empowered workforce. “Self-care is not a luxury; it is a prerequisite for a safe and thriving environment,” she emphasized, reaffirming that personal well-being and continuous development remain central to the organization’s priorities.

By integrating the pursuit of technical excellence with the practice of self-care, PNOC concluded its celebration of the 18-Day Campaign with a strengthened culture of prioritizing personal well-being and a continued commitment to fostering a GAD-responsive workplace.
