TAGUIG CITY, Metro Manila — To strengthen quality management practices across the organization, selected PNOC personnel participated in the Quality Management System (QMS) Awareness Training on June 15, 2026.

Led by Ms. Alma B. Taganas, Quality Management Representative (QMR) and Manager of the Strategy Management Office, the session focused on the principles and requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard and its role in fostering effective, efficient, and continuously improving organizational processes.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Taganas welcomed the participants and underscored the importance of quality management in supporting the Company’s operational objectives and long-term organizational development.

“Our QMS is more than just a certification requirement. It reflects PNOC’s commitment to delivering quality services that conform to international standards and foster a culture of continuous improvement,” Ms. Taganas said.

She further emphasized that regular audits play a vital role in identifying gaps and ensuring that necessary corrective actions are implemented to strengthen the Company’s processes and performance.

The training was facilitated by Dr. Jovertlee C. Pudan, EnP, REA, REB, Senior Management Consultant at JBDC Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment Consultancy. He provided an overview of the key requirements of ISO 9001:2015, covering organizational context, leadership, planning, operations, performance evaluation, and continual improvement. The session also emphasized the importance of risk-based thinking and a process-oriented approach in achieving quality objectives.

To reinforce the concepts discussed, participants engaged in interactive workshops that applied QMS principles to actual workplace scenarios. The activities encouraged them to assess existing practices, exchange insights, and identify opportunities for improvement within their respective units.

The QMS Awareness Training forms part of PNOC’s continuing efforts to foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement as it fulfills its mandate to work alongside the private sector in developing energy sources and promoting the wider adoption of renewable energy technologies

Having secured its ISO 9001:2015 certification in September 2025, PNOC remains committed to sustaining and strengthening its quality management system in the years ahead.
