PARAÑAQUE, Metro Manila—PNOC Board Director Atty. Maria Jasmine S. Oporto​ was among the featured speakers at the Diligent Connections 2025 Conference-Manila on July 10, 2025. Joining a distinguished roster of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) leaders, Director Oporto highlighted practical strategies for implementing internal controls while enabling AI-driven growth and organizational resilience.

Speaking during the second panel session, “Navigating AI Governance: Balancing Innovation, Risk, and Compliance,” she emphasized the urgency of building AI literacy within organizations and encouraged a proactive and forward-looking approach to harness the transformative potential of AI for competitiveness and resilience in the digital era.

Now in its third year, the conference brought together top executives, risk professionals, legal experts, and auditors from both public and private sectors to examine how this technology is redefining risk management, compliance, and decision-making across industries. Topics included AI’s use in control testing, risk identification, systems review, and ethical governance amid evolving regulatory demands.

The conference was organized by Diligent Corporation, a leading provider of software and analytics platforms that help boards, executives, and compliance officers improve decision-making, strengthen risk oversight, and ensure accountability. Its products are used across local and international industries to support secure collaboration, audit management, and enterprise risk operations.

Representing PNOC alongside Director Oporto were Corporate Secretary Atty. Neil L. Nabuab, Executive Assistant IV Atty. Maria Francheska M. Garcia, and Officer-in-Charge Strategy Management Office Department Manager Helen M. Alfonso, who attended sessions aimed at strengthening PNOC’s resilience and performance through technology-driven GRC practices.

Other prominent speakers included senior executives from Anagram Group, First Gen Corporation, CME Holdings Corp., Ayala Group, Meralco, UBX, SteelAsia Manufacturing Corporation, and PETNET Inc., who shared insights on the challenges and opportunities of AI adoption in their respective industries.
