PNOC

ANGELES CITY, Pampanga—PNOC, in partnership with the Angeles City Water District (ACWD), officially switched on the newly installed 150kWp Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System at the ACWD Central Pumping Station on July 8, 2025. The project is part of PNOC’s Rooftop Solar PV System for Government Buildings (RGB) initiative, spearheaded by its Energy Investments Group (EIG).

Representing the company during the Switch-On Ceremony were Mr. Louie Aaron L. Razon and Engr. Mark Jay P. Tabajonda, together with EPCC Contractor Greenheat Corp.

In the months leading up to the commissioning, PNOC conducted a series of technical activities in coordination with ACWD and Prime Water. These included site inspections with bidders, alternating current and direct current wiring checks, and other pre-commissioning evaluations to ensure the system’s readiness.

During the Switch-On Ceremony, PNOC, with the help of Greenheat Corp., led the energization of the panel board, inverters, and protective devices. The team also showed how to safely turn it on and off and provided operational guidelines and recommendations to help ensure the system’s long-term efficiency.

Following the ceremony, the program continued at the ACWD office with an operations and maintenance training session for ACWD and Prime Water personnel. Led by PNOC and Greenheat Corp., the training covered various aspects of system operation, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting. The session also emphasized the importance of regular coordination with PNOC for any system-related concerns.

The successful commissioning of the system is expected to significantly enhance ACWD’s operational efficiency while advancing the use of renewable energy in public infrastructure.

PNOC, in collaboration with its partners, is committed to ensuring the long-term performance and reliability of each installation through continuous performance monitoring and scheduled preventive maintenance.
