TAGUIG CITY, Philippines — To strengthen the organization’s commitment to proper waste segregation, resource recovery, and responsible waste management, PNOC launched its Waste Management Program during the Third Quarter Town Hall held on September 16, 2026, covering the PNOC Energy Center Compound.
The program was presented to PNOC employees by General Services Division Chief (GSD) Administrative Officer Joseph Edgar D. Ragasa, who emphasized that effective waste management begins with individual responsibility and proper segregation at the source. The initiative underscores the role of every employee in creating and sustaining a cleaner, healthier, and more environmentally responsible workplace.

Central to the program is a four-bin waste segregation system designed to provide employees with a clear and consistent way to classify waste at the point of disposal. By strengthening segregation at source, PNOC aims to increase the recovery of recyclable and biodegradable materials while reducing the volume of waste sent for disposal.
Under the system, waste is classified according to its appropriate disposal stream. The Green Bin is designated for biodegradable and green waste, including food scraps, coffee grounds, and plant waste. The Blue Bin is for clean and dry recyclable materials, such as paper, cardboard, and other accepted recyclables. The Red Bin is for residual waste, including soiled and non-recyclable materials, while the Yellow Bin is designated for hazardous and electronic waste requiring appropriate handling.
To support consistent implementation, the GSD, in coordination with the Corporate Relations Division, will roll out a four-month information and awareness campaign.
The Town Hall also featured a de-stress session led by Mr. Geneson Ecaros, RPm, who discussed “Beating Burnout: Strategies to Stay Energized, Focused, and Resilient at Work.” The session focused on recognizing signs of burnout, including exhaustion, disengagement, and reduced effectiveness, while providing practical strategies for managing workload and energy, setting healthy boundaries, prioritizing recovery, communicating needs, and seeking support.

Beyond providing updates, the Third Quarter Town Hall served as an avenue for PNOC to keep its onsite and offsite employees connected, informed, and engaged with the organization’s initiatives. By pairing environmental responsibility with employee well-being, PNOC reinforces that a cleaner and more sustainable workplace goes hand in hand with a healthier, more resilient, and engaged workforce.
