TAGUIG CITY, Metro Manila—PNOC joined the Department of Energy’s (DOE) first General Assembly of DOE-Registered Solar PV Installers on August 5, 2025, in support of the government’s target to install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in all government buildings nationwide.
With the theme “Greening Government: Advancing Sustainability through Solar PV,” the assembly gathered public and private sector stakeholders to strengthen collaboration in advancing the adoption of renewable energy in public infrastructure. DOE Undersecretary Felix William Fuentebella underscored the need for joint efforts to meet the 100% solar installation target. “The government is committed to creating an enabling environment for renewable energy, but we need your help to make this real. Let us aim for 100% solar installation in all government buildings,” he said.

PNOC was represented at the assembly by Louie Aaron Razon, Patrick Jose IV Andaya, Mark Jay Tabajonda, and Aldiom Svenn Lathrop from its Business Research and Development Department and Procurement Management Division. For its part, PNOC is advancing its Rooftop Solar for Government Buildings (RGB) Project, which promotes the use of solar energy and energy efficiency across government offices and facilities.
The assembly served as a platform for engagement, information sharing, and policy alignment among solar PV installers. Topics included updates on the Solar PV Registry, new policy opportunities, compliance mechanisms, and the importance of adhering to Department Circular No. 2024-06-0021, also known as the Guidelines in the Registration Process for Solar Photovoltaics (PV) Installers Under the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP). This policy mandates the integration of renewable energy and energy efficiency in government facilities.
Through the combined efforts of the DOE bureaus and attached agencies, and public and private stakeholders, the Philippines is building a strong foundation for a cleaner, more sustainable, and energy-resilient future.
