TAGUIG CITY — On February 23, 2022, Mr. Jesus Cristino Puruganan Posadas was elected in a Special Board Meeting as the new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Philippine National Oil Company.
PNOC President Posadas has served as an Undersecretary at the Department of Energy from 2016 to 2022 and was largely involved in the establishment of DOE’s department circular on energy efficiency as part of the implementation of Republic Act No. 11285 or the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act. Prior to this, he was part of various energy-related corporations that have provided him a close look at the workings of the energy industry. He also gained his vast experience in supply and procurement systems from San Miguel Corporation wherein he retired in 1997.
The above expertise of PNOC President Posadas brings valuable insights and experiences to the pursuit of PNOC’s mandate under the Philippine Energy Plan such as the establishment of the country’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve, in addition to the creation of business alliances for the developments in the LNG industry and other energy and energy-allied projects, and the continuous development of the company’s various assets.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte approved the nomination of PNOC President and CEO Posadas on February 15, 2022. He replaced former PNOC President and CEO Admiral Reuben S. Lista who passed away in August last year.
