The Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) recently hosted the 8th Everything Energy (TEE) forum, focusing on the growing solar PV rooftop industry and its potential in both business and government sectors.

The forum provided a platform for key stakeholders to delve into collaborative opportunities and into the latest advancements within the solar PV sector. Notable speakers from both government and private sectors shared their expertise and insights on the industry’s trajectory.

Director Marissa Cerezo from the Renewable Energy Management Bureau, Department of Energy, emphasized the critical role of the Renewable Energy Act of 2008 (RA 9513) in driving exploration and development within the renewable energy landscape. Director Cerezo shed light on the National Renewable Energy Program for 2020-2040, aiming to secure a 50% share of renewable energy within the power mix by 2040, with a particular focus on tapping into the country’s significant solar energy potential.

Atty. Maria Guidelia Guese, the Officer-in-Charge President and CEO of the Philippine International Trading Corporation (PITC), highlighted PITC’s pivotal role in providing value-added import and export services, catering to both foreign buyers and domestic partners through its extensive global network.

Mr. Ping Mendoza, President and Member of the Board of Trustees of the Philippine Solar and Storage Energy Alliance (PSSEA), underscored the alliance’s dedication to advancing solar and storage technology within the Philippines. Mr. Mendoza drew insights from global experiences, stressing the significance of accessibility and community support in driving industry development.

Engr. Gregory Lofamia, Country Manager and Executive Director of BECIS Philippines showcased BECIS’ renewable energy services portfolio across eight countries, highlighting their solar PV projects in Batangas and Misamis Oriental. Accentuating the company’s unwavering commitment to sustainable energy solutions. With supportive governmental policies and private sector initiatives, solar PV emerges as a practical and cost-effective renewable energy source set to contribute significantly to the country’s energy mix.
